I got the negs processed which I took on Thursday and annoyingly they are ALL fogged, I think I might know why so hopefully when I take some more on Sunday they won't be fogged. If they are as well I know there is a leak of light in the camera! not happy!
Read a nice phrase today about one of the campsites I'm going to visit that works with the concept or idea I'm going for. It said " Leave nothing but footsteps, Take nothing but memories" which is similar to this idea that the photograph is everything and nothing.
The Plan!!!
By Friday I will have some new photographs of two campsites I am going to visit in Nottingham on Thursday.

3 Caravans - Green Acres Caravan + Tent - Orchard
I like some of the ideas David Bate discusses in the text 'After Thought' about contemporary photography. For example he writes about the idea of 'contemplation without meaning' a concept that may be seen in work that David Bate describes as 'descriptive realism'. He makes reference to the Cruel and Tender exhibition of 2002.
These set of images were taken in campsites in the 'heart' of England; Nottinghamshire. These are very small images taken with a low quality compact camera to get an idea of work in progress. I have taken 10 5x4 photos and a role of 35mm film, depending on the results of the 5x4 film I am considering using medium format.
I really like (3 caravans, Green Acres Caravan and Touring Park) and think works. I would like to re shoot.

Current Project
I will be engaging with "The Object" through representation by photographing the everyday and often overlooked structures in the English landscape.
Last year I focused on Fast food outlets such as Pizza Hut, McDonalds, KFC etc. (These are not the English of all things, so I want to get away from the 'American modernist' but don't want to be compared to Martin Parr, therefor it is important I achieve a unique style and authorship).
To me modernism in photography is about the photograph as an object and as an aesthetic. Ultimately I would want to transcend a representation of the banal in to a photograph that is of high quality and craft, composed to every last detail and evoke feeling.
An image that appears to be 'about' something yet it is about nothing and everything.
Influences: Stephen Shore, Martin Parr, Eggleston, John Szarkowski, Gursky, Ruff, Lee Friedlander.

KFC
Burger King
I like these 4 images but they can be improved I think by using a 5 x 4 camera because this will not only help me achieve a better quality image and adjust perspective issues but also slow the process of capturing an image enabling me to make more conscious compositional decisions and exposures.
